Wood bindings are bent in the side bending jig seen in the flat top essay.
The binding is glued in.
A neck block is cut.
Two carbon fiber rods are installed. Carbon fiber is 3x stiffer than steel by weight.
The dovetail from the body is drafted onto the neck.
The neck dovetail is roughed out on the bandsaw.
Final fitting is done by hand.

The fingerboard is slotted.
The headstock veneer is shaped and bound. The inlay recess is made using a dremel.
The logo in place. Light colored wood is hard to inlay as mistakes aren't easy to conceal.
The veneer is glued on.
The neck is glued in.
The fingerboard is radiused and glued to the neck.
Strong side lighting is used to shape the neck and finish sand the instrument.
Stain is applied and the bindings are scraped free of stain.
The oil varnish is applied by hand and slowly built up.
After a good smooth oil base is attained the final french polishing brings out the shine.
The instrument is fitted with hardware and setup. The mandolin is complete!
